Thanks for all the advise. First off, my Rocky is let out to go when he tells me. Usually both of them will go together. He's allowed to stay out as long as he wants, weather permitting. If we leave somewhere my babies are left in the house. I've tried the jerking the leash trick when he would start the "studly" pawing and it doesn't phase him. In fact when we walk he will do his studly thing when he sees a female. If I could figure out how to post pics on here you wouldn't believe what this little 12 lb bundle of love has done to my lawn. Also have a lot of pulled up grass and dirt on the patio from this. Even my neighbor's Great Dane pup isn't this destructive. I did close off the grass to both dogs and only allowed them on the rocked area to do their business, but my spoiled female Shih Tzu does not like the rocks.
Question on the heat of the astro turf, why is it used on football fields both professionally and at the colleges and High Schools if it gets so hot?
Hadn't thought about the screened ideal.
