Rita I lost two dogs to Melanoma, our first Pomeranian, Max was diagnosed when he had a dental, they found a tiny growth in his jaw and seem to know right away it was Melanoma, the test confirmed it. He lived another 11 months and five days, almost unheard of, he had entirely holistic treatment.
Then we had our Lab Sofie, you remember her, many here went on that short journey with me.
Her tumor was found when I watched her eat one Saturday morning and she was chewing funny. She had a very large tumor in her soft pallet.
She had new somewhat experimental vaccine treatment, she lived only seven weeks from diagnosis.
I am not sure if the risks for Melanoma are the same as for humans, it just seems like a lot of the time the tumors are in the mouth.
I pray Andy does not have this and maybe it's just some skin problem from the summer heat and humidity.
Be sure to let us know as soon as you do...will be keeping Andy in my prayers.
Hugs from Lucy, Bubba & Csepski.
