Where did she come from?

She came from Love A Golden Rescue from St. Louis, via Turkey - yes the country.

Many breed specific rescues run into issues finding individuals of that breed. Many have included mixes of their breed and often individuals of other breeds. This is the case with Love A Golden.

As it happens, there is a "colony" of goldens living in forested areas around Istanbul, Turkey. Many golden rescues around the US have worked to help find homes for these great dogs.

What a trip. Heck getting our Lab mix from Houston I thought was a choir. Guess not. How long was she in quaranteen?

I'm not sure of the quarantine. She had an extensive medical record from Turkey that her vet is St. Louis had. She tested positive for Ehrlichia (never had clinical disease) and has been treated, but that is a disease that is present here in the US so it isn't a barrier to import.

Congratulations to your new addition! What a beauty! As mentioned above, I'd love to see a pic of both of your pups together. :)

In regards to quarantine, one of the reasons we adopted our newest members, its their birthday today, 13 year old brother/sister Cavaliers. The original owner was moving to Israel and she related that there was a month long quarantine and she felt at their age, it was not advisable.
