They kind of hedge their bets, you see that bathing or swimming don't GREATLY hinder effectiveness. I still recommend not bathing just before or bathing and swimming for a few days after application.
In really tough cases I've recommended application after 2-3 weeks, but there are a lot of factors taken into account before making that recommendation - READ I'm not recommending you do that without your vet's approval.
