I am not familiar with the DC/DC converters so I was curious how much more energy is used to boost 12V to 19V. You have to be eating more amps to create volts so I wonder how that compares to the amps lost converting DC to AC. I see that many of the inverters claim a 90 to 95 percent efficiency which does not sound too bad.
Does a DC/DC converter get hot as well while boosting power? Looking on Amazon, the DROK looks much bigger than something that could be built into a cigarette lighter adapter as described above. Any thoughts?
