250' of unspliced rg6 from dish to reciever should give you a good signal, depending on the dish. I've run 200' of rg6 with a splice from a dish 500 on a tripod with no noticeable loss of signal quality. rg11 will give the best signal. Avoid boosters. a bigger dish, bigger cable. better signal, no troubles. Tip- use dielectric grease in connections to stop corrosion, moisture degradation.
