About 3 years ago for my workshop I put my 75' cat 5 inside an old garden hose and buried it about 6" under.
I have:
1) A wireless computer to the house router.
2) A hard wired computer to the house router. 75' cat5.
3) Two hard wired desktop units in the house. 75' cat5.
I run the broadband tests on all 4 and the wireless to the shop is about 12.5mbps and all of the wired units around 14-15mbps.
I am happy with that.
I for one don't think you will have a problem with 300'.
