A drone while camping

I had the same situation, I was looking for a drone suitable for shooting in an open area, which will give out good shots and videos, searched on buyersimpact.co.uk and my choice fell on the DJI Phantom 4, I bought it and a week later I wanted to try it out in the open. However, I was later informed that drones are not allowed to fly in that area. I was very angry, because I didn't understand why the ban was imposed and why it wasn't written anywhere???Why did I buy a drone that was expensive enough to fly at home??

The police helicopter flying past a mile away at 1500 feet can take pictures of every bump on your nose. The cameras at the traffic light can get clear pictures of your car and license plate as you pass 300' away at 60 MPH. Don't do anything you don't want to be seen doing, and don't worry about it. Drones cannot take pictures through the roof of your home. But a hot-air balloonist can take pictures through the skylight in your bathroom!

Also I am respectful of my neighbors and ask them if it's ok to fly my drone especially if they have pets.
I have never been refused and they were happy i asked.
I then show the video of the campground and they are impressed.
I've even had people come up to me and ask to see the video and soon ask about purchasing a drone.
They're only evil in the eyes that don't understand or want to.

As others have said I can't believe the ignorance of people and the hate towards drones.
This thread wasn't even about whether you like it or not.
I'm registered with the FAA and if you think it's ok to take your shotgun or slingshot to my drone then it carries the same punishment as shooting down an aircraft.
And nobody is spying on you or even wants you in their video.

I currently have a Mavic Pro mainly due to his compact size and easy to carry.
Amazing the views you can see that you wouldn't normally see on the ground.

Another thing many don't understand about drones. They can fly forward and backward and side to side without changing their orientation. So a drone facing forward and traveling backward could appear to be filming you when actually it's backing up for a wider view with the forward facing camera.

Privacy gone crazy would be the HIPAA laws.

Yep. Hence my post. No one has a "right to privacy" in a public space. Anyone in public can be legally photographed - unless there is a specific restriction against photography at that particular location.

And with my camera and lenses, I can get a much more detailed photo of you in your campsite just by sitting in my own campsite and shooting, than anyone with a drone will get by flying overhead.
