You said the existing antenna is 17 years old... While there is a good chance it is past it's prime electonically (Tarnish and such take their toll) and in need of replacement antennas such as the one pictured above are NOT your best choice.
Frankly, the Winegard Sensar IV is likely your best choice This is one of the best RV antennas made for long range reception..
My 9 year old has a Winegard Sensar I think an II, thought it might be an III (Not sure what the differences are) with optional Wingman (IV has this already)
And I upgraded the wall module to a Sensar pro.. and better than that you will not find. Unless you plan on erecting a tower with a rotatable Yagi at the top.
