AdBlock Plus Allowing "Paid" Ads Through It's Filters?

This according to the Wall Street Journal, also covered in Slate.com. It's parent company Eyeo GmbH has reportedly allowed 70 paid advertisers through its ad blocking filters, which includes Google, Microsoft, and Taboola according to WSJ. Guess the lure of big online advertising dollars or Marks was just too much to resist? Though one has to wonder if this was their biz plan all along?
  • This is the natural evolution of where ABP has been going for the past few years. They started with whitelisted ads and have progressed from there.

If this was their plan all along they're very good at the long con since they started almost 10 years ago.
