  • Bill, is there a way to find out what shows are transmitted on which birds? Just curious. And thanks for the clarification on the readout. A nice upgrade would be a signal strength on the display. I have found that even though it is locked in place one bird can be blocked and cause issues. Not the travlers fault, just some tall palm trees blocking one bird.

You have done an excellent job and no further action is required. The satellites that show (s) are spot beamed channels and show as not acquired or may show a few transponders with numbers but mostly zeros. Don't worry about 99 or 103 (S) info at all. You have very good c, ca and cb numbers (c=CONUS=CONtinental US). Now sit back and watch the show!
  • The Trav'ler for DirecTV locks onto 99, 101, 103, 110 and 119. The display in the box doesn't have room for 5 sets of number and therefore only display the critical locks. If it can find 101, 110 and 119 it knows that 99 and 103 will be found by default.

Yep, you should be good to go. Once you finish the setup it will do a test. Just push past the test when done and see how things work. A symptom of a weak signal on a bird is an error message on the tv. I don't remember the code.
  • Use the screen where there's a simple horizontal colored bar (Signal meters) and peak the 101 to 90 or above. Tweaking individual transponders is way over my head.

  • What exactly are you trying to do?
If your on Directv all you need to do is setup on sat 101. The best and simplest solution is to use a meter like a Birdog. This will get you maximum signal strength. Simple beeter meters are OK but do not tell you which satellite your locking on.
