Agree. But the legal system will make out very nicely. Who bears the blame when a vehicle sold as "No driver required" crashes into a van load of kids? The owner? The dealer? The manufacturer? Those idiots at DOT who approved them for sale?

Just because it can be done doesn't mean it should be done.
I for one can't wait for it. The worst computer system ( Read Microsoft) will still result in many thousands less accidents than we currently have. Add in that we won't need to keep adding more expensive highways with cars being able to travel maybe ten feet apart and no more drunk or distracted drivers it will be a definite improvement.
