Airport Express as wifi access point in RV

I just started full-timing and travel in my RV. When I get to a new park that offers wifi how do I setup my new Apple Airport Express to be the access point to the park's wifi in my RV?

At my last park they had Ethernet and I used that. Very simple. However, now I'm in a park with only wifi. I can't figure out how to the Airport to the park wifi. Creating network off of the Airport is simple, just can't get the park's access on it.

BTW I reset the Airport and tried from new too.

That's an easy question to answer for a lazy person like me. Some parks only allow one connection per set of access credentials, and some other parks like the one I'm in now require a long loggon process each time you turn on a device. Why not have one device logged on to the park's network all the time that you can instantly access in your RV?

    Got it, makes perfect sense.
    Thanks for the explanation.
  • I asked the same question on the Apple discussion forums before here. I just got a reply. This can't be done with a single Airport. It would take two. One to receive the park's wifi signal and one to act as an access point.

That's not the answer I wanted to see but it does answer my question. Thank you for all the replies.

Is that the same as the Jetpack? I've got one on the way, but I plan to use that for work (until I figure out my personal data needs) and the park's access for personal use.

We started having similar problems of getting on the internet at the various camp grounds. Seems like everywhere we went it was something different on connecting or poor services, etc... Then there is always the chance of getting into some of the unsecured WIFI sources that could lead to other problems...

In the end it was best for to use to go with a system like Verizon MIFI that has secured WIFI for up to five of our devices and with Verizon coverage it has worked great for us just about anywhere we go.

I am presently getting by just fine with a 3GB connection and if we start wanting to downstream alot of data I think we will sign up for the 20GB data plan with MILLENICOM that uses the Verizon Network.

Its kinda nice to know we will have our internet connection anywhere we can pick up Verizon Cellphone service...

My Verizon MIFI is a stand alone device and does not have to be physically connected to any of my devices. The MIFI box creates its own secure WIFI HOT SPOT. My 2200 MIFI unit sits in a WILSON SLEEK Cradle unit which has an outside antenna which really enhances my setup anywhere we go... If we want to sit on the beach and bring along our tablets etc we just grab the MIFI unit and slip it in my shirt pocket. It will run for around four hours on its internal battery.

We never have to worry anymore about making internet conections...
    Win Win WIN for us...
