All in one computer and RV ?

Hello all,

Our house is to close escrow on August 15th. We will live in an RV park till around November (that is if any parks are available)to clear out anything left from moving and other odds and ends. And then ... we hit the road. Woowho.

Ok, the reason for my post. I wish to purchase an "All in one" computer. I would like it to have a built in camera for video chat and blue tooth and stuff. I am not that savvy when it comes to computers anymore. Money will be tight, but does anyone have a recommendation? Something that is great with CAD software and internet. I found a post here about WIFI and stuff so we will look into that deeper when it is time.

Thank you for you advice.

Dave

QVC and HSN really runs some GREAT deals on DELL and HP high end LAPTOPS. They all come with lots of extras... Most deals run in the $500-$600 range and cheaper and can be purchased with no interest 6 monthly payment plans... We finally got all of our individual LAPTOPS replaced here going this route. Finally able to put all of our older XP machines to rest now... They served us well over the years...

I like the idea of the LAPTOP for the RV's you can carry every thing with you at all times. With WIFI CONNECTIONs you can run all of the TABLETS and other personal devices as well...

We carry the VERIZON MIFI unit with us that provides secure WIFI signals for up to five of devices when on the road in the RV.. There are several similar plans available out there these days. Your cell phone may even provide a secure WIFI connection for your personl devices... Just never felt safe using all of the McDonalds and truck stop connections to get on the internet...

  • Keep an eye on Woot.com. They are owned by Amazon. Lots of good deals on refurbed laptops. Most of them are factory refurbs which are the only ones worth buying.
  • Most full timers travel with a lap top for convenience. But lots are now even dropping that in favor of tablets. If tou need it for business then a all in one might be best, but dont expect acceptable wifi in most places, and cell based internet is quite expensive.
  • Pretty much any new laptop computer will do what you've listed here. They all come installed with Internet capabilities, cameras, Blue Tooth, you name it. Take a trip to Best Buy, talk to them there, you don't have to purchase, but they will give you ideas, and prices!
