My neighbor asked me what Office Suite I was using as he is now receiving lots of emails with MS Office documents / spreadsheets attached. I use MS Office so I have never used anything else but I know other Free programs exist that are MS compatible. I Googled it but have no idea which one program might suit his needs.. Any users of other programs want chime in on this one / recommendations? Thanks

I have both Libre and Apache/Open office. Both seem to work well and are available at no cost.

I use Open office and it is pretty much as good or better in some respects as MS office as a word processor. It does have some limitation in the Spread sheet program though when compared to MS Office. For example: I tried several helps and google searches and still could not get the drop down selection boxes to work, where as MS office was easy (I ask the wife to set it up :) (She was a business software developer).

I've used Open Office for years.

I use MS office and now that it is about $20.00 for the whole suite the price is right
