Marcus,I brought this to your attention over a year ago, with no response yet. I'll ask here.I asked a clerk in the Tucson store (she has a British accent, that tells ya something) why you have American flags that are clearly marked "Made in China" or somewhere other than the US. So, why is that Marcus? You people portrait the vision of the all American camping store. Well, to this retired Veteran, it's a slap in the face. If I was to buy from camping world again, I'd gladly pay the price for an American made flag over one made outside of this country. Have a little more pride in your country and your company.And I know that some will bash me for making a stink about a little flag, well, to those I say, Serve your country during Vietnam, and the Gulf War. Then come back and talk to me. Walk down a public street in your hometown and get spit on, while in uniform, then come back and talk to me.Yes, that flag is a big deal, and it should be to every US citizen. Tank Thomas,Thank you for this post. The flag does mean a lot to us veterans and can relate to the Vietnam experience. I think that everyone who doesn't like being here should leave. I can almost guarantee you that they will be back soon. JMO

And, I didn't even say this time how rude she was to me. That's the biggest reason I don't shop there any longer. If she worked for me in my company, she would have been walked out right then. And that's not a knee jerk reaction, my wife was very upset, and in disbelief an employee would act that way.

Never thought about buying a U.S. flag from Camping World. Probably never will. Buy mine from the local American Legion Post. They also have a return program where you can take tattered flags and they will properly and respectfully dispose of them.

Never bothered to look to see where they are made though.

Edit: just read back through some of the other posts. FYI, American Legion U.S. flags are well made. I can buy one and it flies non-stop 24x7x365 from the flag pole in my yard. It takes a year for it to shred, and they seem to never fade.

Edit Edit!... just saw the post (below this one)... American Legion flags cost $20. They are cheaper than the holiday 3x5 US flags sold at Wall Mart! And last a lot longer!

I can't help but respond to your question, do you think I would complain about flags made in another country, and announce that I am willing to pay the difference, if I had not checked this years ago? There are affordable American flags, made in this country. You just have to look for them.

On another chat board, I have a friend that gives away American flags every year. He gets them for about $6 or $7 each, and they're 3X5 flags to fly on our sand cars. I have donated money so that more could have them also.

MADE in USA is hard to find..........lots of things pass because they are assembled in US

The vegetables, meat, clothing, toiletries, razors to shave with, fuel for your vehicles etc you purchase day in/day out...do you know the origin.
It's a global economy and as such we *the USA* participate in that global economy. Thank goodness other countries purchase our goods!!

Again...Thank You for your service. Yours/mine and thousands +++ of others that served give us the freedoms we enjoy.

No idea where my friend buys his, but the one that's on my sand car has been on it for 3 years now, and is still in perfect shape. I don't fly it if it is even torn or frayed even a little bit. Wal-Mart flags are probably not made in this country either.

As far as buying a flag from CW, I wouldn't buy one there either. But I saw it and it was plain as day where it was made. Almost as though they were proud of it.

As long as we keep buying stupid ****, they'll keep making it, trust me.

Old Biscuit, I've seen a lot of your posts. A lot of which have been negative to me. American made is very hard to find, if you're lazy and don't care to look and find it. Some of us do, and will. It's a free country, and I'll write as I see fit, within the guidelines of this forum. I don't think the Constitution or the Bill of Rights covers your feelings.

Flags or not, for other reasons, such as heavy metals in the product, I have been trying to buy only American made products.

I have to say, some day it is VERY difficult to do so.

Other days there will be three of four different varieties of the item on the shelf. Usually the cheap ones are made in China and the better made ones are made in the US.

The problem comes in when the item offered for sale, like flags, does not have many, if any alternatives, except foreign made.

I just thought about it, why stop at flags? Go with everything, so that those that are too lazy to look, could find it on the self at their local store. Those of us that do take the time to look, wouldn't have to look too hard or too long. Great Idea Bucky!!! Run with it!!

Actually I used the % from memory from a 4th of July presentation, is is actually 87.5% It is no reason to celebrate.

Upon a closer look at how it is worded, it says that 87.5% of IMPORTED flags are from China with no reference to the % of US made flags.

Well, everybody has a point of view I guess. This gentleman or Ladys point of view is that his (or her) country should not export or import anything and my guess is he (or she) is full blooded aboriginal from the Americas from the comments he made about British accents and Mexican nationals. His (or her) country is a free country. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. :) Too funny.
