An Internet Explorer/Firefox question

I think that site is way out of date, it says it is not updated very often. I have used Netflix for quite some time on Chrome and not had any problem. In fact most sites work on Chrome. One major class of culprits that do not are login sites for wi-fi hot spots. When traveling, it is not at all unusual to find a wi-fi login that one cannot connect to without using IE to get connected, then everything else is OK on Chrome.

No problem leaving IE installed. I use Firefox just because I've been using it for so many years and am used to it. Google Chrome is another good one to try out too.

Don't get caught in this misconception? There is no OS which is immune to some form of Malware. Resistant at best.

I haven't followed Chrome OS for some time. But Kaspersky Labs found a malicious Chrome app that was apparently stealing Facebook credentials. Not sure if there are other examples? Nor if there are any third party security apps even available. If not, you're entirely dependent on Chrome to maintain a secure environment? And trusting they don't miss anything?

I have 4 browsers on my computer. I use them all over the course of a month when some newspaper websites limit you.

i know i could justclean my browser but i'm too lazy.

I am now using Chromebook and I have no problems at all with virus, malware, or Windows because there is no Windows on it. It is lightening fast and has a 9 hr battery capability. There are some drawbacks but not enough to make me go back to Windows for most of my uses.

I wonder what those sites are? I have used Firefox since its inception and never had that happen. I must be leading a sheltered life.

I sometimes need to use IE for state websites (Department of Motor Vehicles, etc) and school websites - our town's schools, and a few of the colleges we've looked at. Firefox will work, but sometimes videos or sign-in sections will not function correctly.

Between Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Firefox, I choose Firefox everytime when I can. We have IE and Chrome also on all our computers just in case.

If you download Firefox, be sure to also download AdBlock Plus!!! Makes internet surfing so much nicer.

You are just not very well traveled on the Internet. There are websites that use MS proprietary features that will not work except on IE.

You are just not very well traveled on the Internet. There are websites that use MS proprietary features that will not work except on IE.

When I signed up for Netflix, it wouldn't work using IE. It had something to do with a conflict with Windows 8, IE, and Netflix. My broadband provider, Comcast, suggested switching browsers. I've since noticed IE needs Silverlight to view Netflix, but I haven't bothered to download it. Friends can't view certain videos using Adobe on their Windows 7 machines, but that could be a different conflict with other solutions.
