Let's say family of four have smartphones. Kids get what they get. Mom and Dad are ready for upgrades. Use Dad's upgrade on Kid3. As soon as new phone is activated for Kid3, have Vzw transfer the new phone to Dad. Then use Mom's upgrade for Kid3. Immediately transfer the new phone to Mom's account.
Mom and Dad did not actually use the upgrade. This retains their Unlimited data. Kid3 used the upgrades. Kid3 would lose Unlimited data. When Kid3 moves out it's their problem.
