When I bought by Sprint EVDO mobile broadband eons ago 3g was sparsely available with all over 4g in the distance future. The Sprint guy set it up and by passed the fact that the unit is defaulted to 3g! So if you didn't know how to change the default you would always get 3g no matter if 4g was available. Every time I log on now it bypasses the 3g and goes right to 4g.
Pretty slick on Sprints part. I wonder if the new ones are set up the same way. The user is lead to believe that there just is not 4g available where they are located when they log on.
