Anti-virus in a Virtual Machine
Is it necessary to have anti-virus software installed and running in an virtual machine if the parent computer is running anti-virus software?

VM guest OSes can have security issues that impact the host. VMware regularly provides patches related to this and I imagine that other VM providers have similar issues.
