I avoided Apple products for a long time until I received an iPad mini for an anniversary gift at work. That was three years ago, and I use the iPad all the time. In all that time, I've never had any issues whatsoever. It always works, never freezes up, never had performance issues with it. Never. I liked it so much, I bought my wife an iPad and now have an iPhone. No problems period.
Compare that to my pc (hate it now), friends android phones, another friends surface pro, etc all of which have had problems while I haven't. Is Apple stuff more expensive? Perhaps. But they work.
