- LwiddisExplorer IIOnly three stars on ATT’s own site. https://www.att.com/devices/netgear/nighthawk-lte-mobile-hotspot-router.html#sku=sku8820339
- 2oldmanExplorer IILooks like DutchmenSport has one.
- MrWizardModeratorit gets good comments on howardforums
if you read there and the tech magazine reviews
you will find it is NOT true 5G, that the new wave of cellular tech is
also buying from ATT you will have too have one of their current 'data plans'
if all you have is a Mobley car connect plan, they will not sell this to you for that price of $199
the no longer offered 'car connect' mobley plan, is not a qualified plan for purchasing a nighthawk at reduced price - agesilausExplorer IIII've heard that the 5G standards aren't even adopted yet so none of the devices are 'true' 5G since no one knows what that will be. This could be wrong since it was just someones opinion who wrote the article. I'm actually little worried about that. I'm mainly interested in text-email and web access with occasional downloads of software patches and such.
You can actually buy a refurb unlocked nighthawk for less than $150 on eBay. So you couldn't use a phone SIM in one of these nighthawks with the $40 unlimited data plan? I'm basically ignorant on SIM cards. - MrWizardModeratorpeople have had good luck on ATT swapping sims between data only devices
meaning between hotspots and tablets
the results of putting a sim from a cellphone into a hotspot, have been less often and in some cases unsucessful
AFAIK .. in all cases of success between phone and hotspot
it was an unlocked hotspot
i would be leery of buying a hotspot router and trying the phone SIM in it
if it doesn't work, you have a new paper weight
try reading ATT topics on howardforums.com and see if that has been done
i moved my Mobley hotspot SIM into a different AT&T hotspot, but many people have done that - agesilausExplorer IIIThe data device plans from ATT&T were only 5GB/mo and that at $50/mo. Not attractive at all.
I have to say I had a hard time navigating your website and the search function seems to be FUBAR. - MrWizardModeratoras of last month ?
you could still get an unlimited data plan for tablets for $29.99
people were buying the plan and putting the SIM in hotspots
check amazon and ebay - sch911ExplorerI have one for work with unlimited data. It does have external antenna ports on it which can be a plus. But it is a little big/heavy compared to my personal Unite hotspot. No it has no 5G, however there is a version under test that is 5G which would be marketed as a home internet replacement.

I saw an article that said the 5G model is expected in December. However 5G will not be of much use for many RVers since it will be limited to major cities for years. And not very many of them for the near term.
