AT&T, and 30 gigs for $150/month

Link here.

It pretty much is a 4G/LTE connection, but it looks interesting.

Opinions? I've not delved into this much.

  • ATT doesn't have the coverage that Verizon does so I wouldn't buy an ATT plan but as far as the $150/month... I was paying $89 a month for 20GB of data thru Millenicom (before Verizon put an end to it) and $60 a month for my Sprint flip phone with unlimited roaming (no text, no data, no internet connection)... and I was happy to pay it because it worked great for my needs.

I expect some price/data wars to happen between the 3 big guys thru December.

Santa, I'd like 10GB of 3G/4G data for $40 thru a Verizon hotspot bring-your-own-device plan....

Verizon has a similar device which I have. Unlimited talk/text/18GB data. Total is a few cents shy of $175/month for two lines (home phone/cell phone) after all fees and taxes added in plus $25/month foe cell phone payment.

The price doesn't strike me as outrageous for unlimited home phone service and 30GB 4G/LTE Internet. The portability factor makes it a bit limiting for travelers, but it is doable.

  • That is the plan we have and have not hit an area where we could not get a connection. The farthest east we go is Urbana, IL and go out west all the way to the Pacific coast. I find the 30 gig serves us very well in our travels and here at home. But I do not stream music or video and very rarely one or two YouTube how to videos. Verizon does have more access points, but for us it has not been a problem getting a signal.
  • Depends on where you are, we have both Verizon and ATT. Verizon provides more connections than ATT. Five and a half years from South Florida to Alaska, East coast to the Pacific Verizon has more connections.
