I too went through the drill with the Connected Car folks at AT&T (don't even try talking to any other department there) last week to find they were out of stock and likely will not get more. The AT&T and Best Buy stores here in Phoenix had no idea what the Mobley is or where to get one. I found one in CA at a Best Buy and grabbed it. The device arrived today and I called the Connected Car folks again. They finished setting up my account and activating the Mobley.
It is $20/mo and the $40 fee is supposedly a one time activation fee. I bitched about it and the fact I had to buy the device as they were out. The rep knocked $25 off the bill.
