Instead of messing with wires, power supplies and the like, I just swap the sim between the Mobley and my Mofi Cellular router when I use the trailer. It works great. There was no contract language that restricted it's use strictly to the Mobley. At least that I can find.
Come to find out, you can also just get a hotspot and put it on the unlimited $20 plan if you are an existing AT&T customer with the Unlimited Plus plan. Finding the right AT&T rep to find it might be tough though.
Why the Cell Co's make this stuff so hard is beyond me. Going in to get a phone or changing a plan is like doing your taxes or buying a house. You should just be able to walk in, pay money and walk out, 5 minutes max. It's not rocket science. It's a small hand-held radio. I guess they have to put up a huge front in order to trick you into some grand perception of value and make you want the next great thing. In retrospect the last 3-4 phones I've had all do the same thing. But I'm a phone-sheep.... Bahhhhhh! :-)

I believe it is in the terms for the connected car plan, on the bottom of the mobley page at att website, says need a eligible vehicle or aftermarket device. I suppose worst can happen is you get kicked off the plan or account cancelled. We were in New Mexico years ago and I had att phones, we where there for 4 months when att cancelled my account for excessive roaming, losing money on my roaming charges I suppose as att had no native coverage.
