Not sure what you're talking about. As other AT&T customers have done I had to add it to my existing 15 gig plan and then, once it shows up as an added device, I was told to switch it to the $20 plan and drop it as an extra line on my current plan.
The AT&T web pages are really confusing and seem to indicate one can ADD a car connect device (like the Mobley) to an existing account for $20 or so for 3Gig of data. (On one AT&T web page I saw a reference to "unlimited nationwide" with a note about charges for going over the base amount. ?????) This program started out on a deal between OnStar and AT&T I think, and on my OnStar account I see I can get the $20 unlimited service without any other restrictions. My Chevy dealer told me I can turn the service on/off whenever I want to so it sounds like a no-contract monthly service. I wonder if I can sign up for it on OnStar on my toad, then switch it to my RV using a Mobley.
I'm thinking another option might be to switch phone service to AT&T and get their cheapest smart phone/device plan which is $30/mo + $20/mo for the device with 1Gig of data. Then add a Mobley device with unlimited for an additional $20/mo. At $70/mo that's still cheaper than their $90/unlimited plans. However my understanding from talking to some folks at AT&T is that the cheapest plan they have that includes Canada is their 10 gig/mo plans.
It's all so confusing, but enticing for the RVer on the road.
