Wow! I'm amazed at how much trouble this plans seems to be causing in getting set up. In comparison, my experience was quite smooth I guess. I ordered the Mobley online at the AT&T site, adding it to my existing Homebase 250GB account with the 3GB plan, the only plan listed for it at the time. That was late on a Thursday afternoon, and the next I received an email telling me to call an AT&T number to verify my identity. I didn't call until around 5:00 due to other commitments, but the Q&A session based on info from my credit report went quickly, and the rep said she would put the order through. Being Friday evening, I didn't expect to hear anything until Monday, so I was quite surprised to receive a shipping notice and tracking number a couple of hours later, along with a notice from FEDEX that they had the package and it would be delivered to my mail forwarder on Monday. Over the weekend I checked my account, and sure enough the 3GB plan had been added, along with the phone number assigned to the Mobley. By Monday noon, FEDEX showed the package had been delivered.
Armed with the Mobley's phone number, I called the Connected Car number, but got bounced to a regular CSR due to the Connected Car call volume. The CSR admitted she was new and clueless about the Mobley and the unlimited plan. Another CSR told her to get a Connected Car rep on the line. After a several minute wait, the CC rep came on, and less than 5 minutes later the Mobley was switched over to the $20 unlimited plan. It took another 10-15 minutes for my account to update, and it now shows both the Homebase 250GB and the Mobley unlimited plan as expected. The Mobley is still at my mail forwarders, and I didn't need any of the numbers from it like the IMEI, etc., just the phone number. I'm looking forward to putting it in service when I finally get it in a couple of weeks.
