It helps to have the Mobley close to your device, I noticed higher speeds the closer I have the Mobley to my computer.
As a hotspot, I find the closer the better.
The Mobley is 30 feet away from the PC. I am getting the full 5 bars. I even get 5 bars at the other end of the house in the basement. I will move it within 10 feet and see if the download speed improves.
moving it closer to the PC, improves the wifi connection to the PC
the 5 bars in the manager is the cell signal from the tower
the mobely is designed for in car use, so it is NOT a high power router, like you might buy for the stick house
there are (2) signals to be considered, tower signal, and wifi signal
mine is in the overhead cabinet, about 6ft from the PC
Sorry for the misunderstanding. To make myself clear. The 5 bars is the Mobely signal strength. I am very pleased with the range of the hot spot. I only have 1 or 2 Cell Tower signal strength. Talked and on line chatted with ATT about tower strength for over an hour on two different days. They do not have a signal booster that will work in my area. I need "real" internet connection to work. Will not work with Sat internet. I do not know if it will work with ATT-Mobely internet . ....:h
I am looking at a Wilson antenna.
