well for one, this is a cellular electronic add on
not a mechanical piece of the RV
for two, not everybody is an electronic tech like you and me
for three, while adaptable to use, that is clearly a 'test port'
not a standard antenna jack
and four, while external antennas are a help to those devices designed to use them
in many cases an amplifier is MORE help and more useful in more places
and you can always change the antenna used if more gain is needed
