The third time I called back to AT&T the rep took my info, added it to my account and gave me a phone number with no hassle. He said I had to wait for a new sim card to arrive in the mail. I called back one more time to see if they could activate the one that came with my Mobley from Best Buy online but he said they only activate sim cards from AT&T now.
