FWIW, I ordered mine directly from AT&T.
The follow up automated emails contained a telephone number associated with the new account.
The packaging for the Mobley did not.
Here are some FALSE LEADS:
1. Website link in the Mobley setup documentation doesn't exist
2. Website link in the emails doesn't exist
3. Phone number (ends in 0500) does NOT connect directly to the Connected Car department. It connects to an automated response robot that makes typing sounds to fake you out. It does not recognize "Mobley" or "Connected Car" and will hang up on you. 3rd time is the charm, just keep blabbing to it.
4. When you get a rep, they will setup a passcode, required for your account before they will transfer you.
5. Phone number, IMEI, and ICCID are required to activate the account. After about 40 mins, they will tell you the device is already activated.
I asked for the DIRECT number to the dept. She gave me the -0500 number, which I questioned her about. It's the only number they have to give out.
This was my experience last week. YMMV.
Results? I was charged for the $99 plus tax and $20 per month.
The device? It works when we get closer to population, but not from home. Not sure what that will mean when we go to campgrounds. Guess we'll find out ;)
Good luck, hope you all get to take advantage of the sale, too!
