it won't while the engine is on
something to do with sensing voltage fluctuation, the timer starts after the engine is shut off,
probably a (2) fold situation, saves battery so you don't run it down
and little 'Timmy' can't set in the car and play games on his ipad, he has to get out and go join the family

reports on recent ones arrive with ver 1.01 software, but you have to goto to the bottom of the opening page, choose PC display mode, then settings, then advanced to find power save, and set the timer
