I purchased the Explorer Dish and controller. I liked it due to its ability to be able to use the manual control to tweek the signal. This is extremely beneficial in Mexico where the satellite footprint is smaller and when their might be an obstruction. My installer guy loves this one due to its ability to change out any parts needed, where he claims the Wineguard must be a complete change out if there are issues with it. Have had good luck with Explorer tech support I needed at the start due to my receiver issues. Have been using it for about 3 years now. I have heard great things as well about the Winegard system. Good luck in your research. it would be great to hear which one you decide to go with.
I also installed the Explorer system for Shaw and it works great. One thing to be aware of with the Winegard system is that it DOES NOT support Shaw's 3rd satellite, it is only capable of acquiring 2 satellites.
