Easiest way to do a full backup.
Step: One buy some stuff..
A: An external hard drive.. Absolutly needs to be larger than 1/2 the size of the existing drive (IE: I have a 500 GIG HD so I must have at least 250 to even try it, and bigger gives a better chance of success.
B: Some software.. I use Acronis True Image, but there are many programs out there that are just as good.
3: Run the software with the drive attached
4: Come back tomorrow, cause it may take that long, and re-boot the box.
(How long it takes depends on the computer, how much RAM, how much HD how full the HD is, and the level of USB hookup or rather the slowest end of it)
I have seen backups take 2 hours, and 27 hours, That's on my hardware.
