I never thought I would spend money on a backup camera. My 2010 F150 truck came with one with the tow package and this was my first rear camera setup to use. I was totally surprised how useful this is...
My camera monitor is part of the information center for the truck and comes on when I go into reverse.
The display has foot markers with different beeping alarms when something is in the path.
You can actually see the Truck BALL go directly under the trailer hitch - aligns up on first try...
My rear camera is mounted in the bottom part of the Ford Emblem and does flare up if it sees another light source. It probably could be mounted higher up on the tail gate and do better. Of course it is only activated when you are in reverse so no big deal.
I certainly will have one of these on any of my future trucks - most useful item to have...
