I wouldn't let the battery issue hamper your decision. I have the Moto G and like many Apple products, the battery can be replaced by many phone repair places or you can replace it yourself if you have good vision and steady hands. There are YouTube videos on how to split the case and replace the battery. I have replaced the batteries on a few older iPhones...it was a bit unnerving the first time but not an impossible task.
Heavy phone users like to have a spare battery to swap out but you obviously cannot do that with some phones.
