Believe it or not, my salesman actually TALKED ME OUT of purchasing the TV and mount for our new Jayco TT. The upgrade for a 32'' TV would have been nearly $500!Thoughts on the best brand to handle the road? I can hold up to a 40'', but the price break seems to jump after 32'', so I will stay at that size. Most brands in that category seem to be about $200. Walmart. Find a good deal. But, stay with a good brand: LG, Samsung, Sony, etc.

Any brand you favor will work, purchased from anywhere. And yes, much cheaper to get one on your own than pay the mark-up from the dealer!Depending upon how it's installed in your camper, you might want to figure out a way to remove it easily... for transporting when on the road ... AND to be able to take it outside to watch too!

Aren't there some guidelines about how big a television one can easily view from so many feet away? Seems to me a 32 inch TV is quite large for an RV. I think ours is 19 inch watched from across the room 10 feet away.

I have a 26-inch LCD in the living room and 22-inch LCD in the bedroom...

Be aware that TV's from the Big Box / Walmart stores only operate on 120V(I have not seen 12v TVs sold there).Are you sure that you ONLY need a 120V TV? because this will mean you are always hooked up to shore power (or generator)- I have found that inverters don't work too well in this scenario unless you have a bank of fully charged batteries.I have 12v/120V TV which has worked very well from Naxa - not sure what their biggest TV is but my 22" works well in the camper.Gerry

The rule that I learned and used in the A/V system business is that the best viewing is between 4 and 8 times the width of the screen, and not more than 30 degrees from the edge of the screen farthest from your sitting position.

Thanks all! I appreciate the feedback and think we will take the "big box" approach where we can pick up a cheap 4 year warranty along with our television. I ordered a wall mount today and should have the TV purchased and in place by the weekend.

I put smaller a Sony and a Sharp in our TT. The picture is better on the Sony, it changes OTA channels faster and it has a feature where I can shut off the picture and still hear the TV...great feature when I just want to hear the news but don't want the bright light of the TV lighting up the bedroom.

I would not say 90% of 32"+ TVs are 12V DC.

OP, first, decide if you care about TV when not connected to shore power/AC. If not, then pick for favorite TV out at a big box store.

I have a Vizio in my camper and have bounced it all over the country, leave it in 365 days a year and zero problems. Visios, IMO are some of the best value TV an the market today. They have great pictures as well.

We used Visio and Samsung in our tt. Both worked great with no problems. We now have Sonys - they came with the rig - and all of them work well.

All of our tvs have been 120V. All have been used with inverters - typically 300W - 400W - with no problems. LED TVs use very little amperage. Our current 40" Sony uses 6.5 amps/hour, the 32" uses 5. Our 19" Visio used about 3.

Look at the power brick on any TV. 90% of them are actually 12 volts. It is silly to buy a 12V only TV when all you need to do is cut the cord!

I have had Samsung for years with no problems. Three years ago bought a Toshiba because it fit an available space. That was a big mistake. Picture is OK, but the sound keeps disappearing.
