Bogus Verizon call

Many of these kind of scams seem WAY to dumb for anyone to fall for but....proof that this is not correct is that they continue them. I regularly get a call from "the computer repair department" telling me I have problems with my computer. Calling them would allow them to fix it "over the phone". I'm just waiting until I receive the money from the 21 lotteries that I won (but didn't enter) to arrive and I'll pay to HAVE someone steel from me .....I mean fix it lol.

I received a text from Verizon that we would get 10 dollars off our Verizon bill for each phone every month until we upgraded our phones. So far the last 2 months we have gotten 20 dollars taken off our bill each month. Doesn't seem like that's what they should be doing, you'd think it would be the other way that when we upgrade then they'd reduce the bill to get us to upgrade.. Oh well if and when we decide to go to a smart phone, think we'll buy em out right and no be tied down to a 2 yr contract. Now no incentive to upgrade.

that plan will only work if you have a smart phone now.. if you have older flip phone you may not have a true data plan. before you buy a smart phone you might go to a store and talk with one of the peeps there to get the true story.. 20 bucks a month off is a good deal.. just think in a year you will have saved enough to buy one iphone if you go iphone 3 or so.

this is the kinda thing you hear about people calling in to Clark Howard and saying..

I clicked the link and put my info in and several months later got a call from a store in Florida i owed them $4000 on stuff i bought and the check they say I wrote was bad and they are demanding payment..

The check was not written by you personally but by someone posing as you when you clicked the link and put in info about you. but the bad news is legally YOU wrote the check and it will cost you lot of time and money to prove other wise.

If you live by the rule "if it sounds to good to be true" it might be a scam rule you will not, in most cases, get burned buy stupid******like the 21verizon scam.

if this was a real Verizon offer, and you were a real Verizon customer do you not think they would have you info already.. not hard to figure this one out.
