Boosting WiFi Signal at Home

What do you use to boost your WiFi signal at home? I've researched a little, and since my house has a LAN wired network, I don't need one of those devices that plugs in a wall outlet, uses the house wires and a connection for whatever you are trying to connect. So I can plug my smart TV directly into tho my network.

I just want my WiFi devices - phones/tablets/printer to have better signal strength.

The issue came about since I just upgraded my cable service to include phone. Since my modem didn't have a phone jack, I had to get a new one. Bestbuy sells modems required by Comcast, so I went there, and the only one they had included the router.

Hooked it all up, spent an agonizing 1.5 hours with support getting the MAC address synced, and low and behold, my signal strength is not as good - the new modem/router has an internal antenna.

So - is there a device that simply amplifies the signal without creating another network?

    Comcast ALWAYS lies!

    RULE #2 OF LIFE:

Comcast is useless on the telephone.
