Brand New Vizio 40 inch TV problem, HELP

I have Direct TV satellite and Spectrum ground cable. I replaced the bedroom 32 inch Samsung with a 40 inch Vizio, from Best Buy. It has 4 HDMI ports and ONE port for regular co-ax cable connector. I connect Spectrum using HDMI port and Direct using co-ax cable.
I could not make this new TV show anything on Direct TV, except NO SIGNAL. I went back and explained the problem to Best Buy. They said it would cost me $100 if they sent out a Geek techie,...OR I could have another 40 inch Vizio, in the new sealed box.
I connected the new one, with same results! I tried it with my two other Direct TV receivers, with same results. I replaced the co-ax cables, with same results,...NO SIGNAL. I connected, one by one, ALL my other TVs, total of five. They all receive Direct TV just fine.
Is this model Vizio simply not compatible with Direct TV signal?

    IMO it isn't a problem with Vizio or DirectTV. Did you check each "input?" Not for two seconds....10.

    I'm not sure why you're trying to use coax. Doesn't your DTV receiver have an HDMI out? And your TV has multiple HDMI inputs?

    what 2oldnan says. and..are you selecting the correct input or source on your TV?

    We had one of those and had to take it back to Walmart, even tho it was slightly out of warranty they did take it back. Ours just stopped working while we were on our 9000 mile summer trip, couldn't take it back until we got home. We tried all the suggested fixes, unplugged and so on.

    1 if the directv has hdmi why are your trying to use coax ? I can only assume you can't
    2 does the directv have coax from the DTV box out ? ... it needs to or you need to use a game adapter on the composite outs. If it does which channel does it transmit on ? analog 3or 4 ? turn on the tv and with the direct box also on....Go to the TV and select over the air tv as the source then scan the tv for channels (go to antenna, select over the air OTA, and scan). when done go to analog channel 3 maybe 4? it's been so long .... Should work. can you get any OTA channels on the TV? if you can then it's not the tv
    using coax like this really degrades the picture but if its all you can do its better than nothing

    I don't think you get HD via coax, which would be a shame on that nice big TV.

    Unless you are using a really old SD only receiver (D10, D12 Rxx) the receiver should have an HDMI output. If that's what you are using then you need to run the coax from the receiver to the TV coax input and then do a new channels scan while the receiver is turned on and connected. The DTV receiver will be found on channel 3 analog (sometimes 4). If the TV you bought does not scan for analog channels you will not be able to use it with that old receiver. You best bet (in all cases) is to update your receiver to an H series receiver. If you use a dome in your RV then you want to get an H24 or HR24 if you want a DVR. If you have a Trav'ler or use a ground mounted tripod then get a Genie HR54.

    I have a new Vizio .. just bought 50" It has both analog and digital OTA tuners. Truthfully I haven't seen any with tuners that don't do both analog and digital and I just got done shopping for our casita. It's not the tv I'm pretty sure its the hookup or lack of being on broadcast tv and scanning for new channels. The older DTV tuners must have coax out. The new Dish receivers don't

    I use dish not directv but the way Bill Satellite says is the way I do it on the rear TV. The front TV used the HDMI and the rear TV used the coax. Put the TV on OTA and do a scan.
