1 if the directv has hdmi why are your trying to use coax ? I can only assume you can't
2 does the directv have coax from the DTV box out ? ... it needs to or you need to use a game adapter on the composite outs. If it does which channel does it transmit on ? analog 3or 4 ? turn on the tv and with the direct box also on....Go to the TV and select over the air tv as the source then scan the tv for channels (go to antenna, select over the air OTA, and scan). when done go to analog channel 3 maybe 4? it's been so long .... Should work. can you get any OTA channels on the TV? if you can then it's not the tv
using coax like this really degrades the picture but if its all you can do its better than nothing
