Like others, I've moved both private and business numbers to VOIP- currently have private number with Brighthouse, business voice and fax with Vonage, saving over $100/month over AT&T.
I see Google Voice makes you have a Google account...
No- you can forward the number to any phone- once you are set up, no computer needed.
I'm not positive you can port a number over though- used to be able to, but now not sure.
