Campground wi-Fi

In your experience, how often do you have a good enough wi-fi signal to stream movies (Netflix, etc.) at a campground?

I'm weighing the hassle/expense of taking Directv on the road this summer...

Best bet is to get a VERIZON MIFI unit account or if you want to downstream some TV signals then get a MILLENICOM MIFI account. Just make sure they use the VERIZON NETWORK for best coverage across the USA...

These units will create a WIFI HOTSPOT around your trailer for 5-10 WIFI enabled devices for you to use.

Can't depend on the campground generated WIFI signals...

Okay. So I have a home Directv system. Two HD receivers, one of which is old-fashioned 2-at-a-time Hd DVR. What's it going to cost to take directv on the road with me? Don't care about keeping stick-house live- it'll be empty.
  • Never... IMHO campground wifi is sometimes great for connecting and chatting for a while with friends, but I don't find it useful for sending pictures or downloading someone else's pictures either unless you are doing it in the off hours.

Your Direct TV will work well and you should take it with you if you enjoy being connected to watch movies.
  • Zero to Zero% I can barely get email. Even when parked next to the wifi station.
  • You will be very disappointed if you rely on campground wifi. At best for email and minor surfing.
