As for mifi (cellular hotspots) unless you are using a mobile device (i.e. cell phone or tablet), you will quickly burn through the data plan of 6GBs very quickly. I did a little test the other day using my MacBookAir and burned through 2GBs of data in just over 3 hours (no I wasn't downloading huge files or streaming video). It seems the standard browser (can be changed to mimic a mobile browser) uses a LOT more data.
I'm not sure what you call cost effective. I pay $500 per month for internet service to a remote area and have about $7000 tied up in antenna's and access points.
I have 100 spaces and could come nowhere close to supporting 2gb in 3 hrs to all of them.
You say in a later post that you don't have an unlimited source of money. I don't either , I am however offended by being called cheap and lazy.
