If it is unsolicited spam then I have experienced the same. It appears fine on my iPhone and Android but on the PC it displays as described. I have my virus protection and spam filters set pretty high on the PC. It appears that someone overseas has placed a "copy" of a of an ADT ad or other ad and placed it over another message (or virus) as many of the background script appears to be another language. Since I don't have the knowledge to know what the "layered" message's true meaning is, I only view it as a preview and never click it to open it up. I assume that there is nothing but trouble hiding behind the content and delete it.
