Can I make my television play back through stereo receiver?

I have a Jensen JE1911 television connected via HDMI to a Jensen AWM975 stereo. I've been trying to find a way to get the TV to play back sound through the stereo system speakers instead of relying on...

If your TV has audio output jacks and your sound system has matching audio input jacks you can connect the two with an audio cable and get the sound that way.
