There is more, First there are two times many types of antennas, Domes and Dishes. DOMES can see one satellite at a time, (Dishg used up to 3, so does Direct) and those all must be in the same band (DISH Only) the tailgater is designed to work with a VIP-211K it is a SOLO (one output) antenna. Since it can only see one sat at a time, and even the lowest dish package needs two, you really should use one dome per LNB input with dish. The Tailgater will not work with DirecTV.
DirecTV (NON=HD) uses one satellite, thus a DUAL (output) Antenna (Dome or dish) will work with 2 (or more) receivers. (more using a proper switch system)
DirecHDTV will not work in HD with domes.
With DISH type antennas... You get the proper antenna and it works, PERIOD.
