cell phone photo question

Seems like the safest place to store your cell phone photos is on your phone. Photos rarely are lifted from the phone unless someone has access to it. They get stolen/lifted from the online storage servers. If you don't store them online, they are less likely to get copied.

Path1...get a Dropbox account and store pictures of whatever you want, and you'll have them with you wherever you might be, regardless of what device you might be using (phone, laptop, tablet, desktop, etc). Or use Google Drive; it's free.

The more likely issue would be selling your phone and someone retrieving the "deleted" photos.

Of course they can. It's just the internet and anything, anywhere on the internet can be hacked. We all just do what we do and pray every night that we are not the next victim!

There are apps that can act as a vault for your photos. I have an iPhone so others can pipe in as to what's available at the Google Play store.

On TV they do it all the time.... But remember that's hollyweird, not reality.

As others have said it can be done.. But the easiest way is as follows... You are having lunch/(Breakfast or supper) with someone.. You feel the "urge" to visit the "Inner office" (Men's or lady's room) and leave your UNLOCKED phone on the table... One of your meal companions picks up your phone... Select all... Share3 and now he has all your photos.

Simple solution.. Don't leave phone unlocked

Better solution.. That nude selife or nude spousie or Girl/boyfriend picture... DELETE IT NOW.

Wasn't sure about how secure photos were. Cleaning out my phone the other day and noticed I have some stuff I'd rather not share with the public.


Couple months ago… wife was carted off to ER with a heart attack. At ER they asked about what med’s she is taking. She is taking way too many for me to remember. I was able to use ER’s public computer and sign into her electronic chart and print out a list. So was thinking just in case there is a next time, I took a photo of all her meds.

Then last year our pickup broke down when we were RVing 1,500 miles from home. I got so mad at mechanics messing around so I went looking for another tow vehicle. When working out a deal and all the paper work that comes with it, found out that the thumb drive that we keep important stuff on was still hidden in RV back at park.

So to prevent problems like this again and to have "stuff" handy…I started taking pic’s of important papers, with my Samsung 7. Thinking that I would have everything I needed in my phone.

med list, credit card stuff, income stuff, wills, license etc.

Anything in the world could happen, but look at the odds of it happening. Why would anyone want your photos and even if they got access to them, what would they do with them?

You have better (?) odds of
Being hit by lightening
Getting in a car accident
Getting involved in a hit and run accident

While I guess it's good to know this is possible, often writers write these sensational type articles because they get paid for the adds that pop up while you have the article open.

Not very likely, as the article notes, it's easiest to get the photos from where they're stored, not from your phone. Like the article states: ",,,remotely hacking into someone's phone and gaining access to their system files and photos is extremely difficult..."
