I'm getting a lot of ads and such on my cell phone. Is there a way to block them? I have an Android phone from Verizon. Thanks.
assuming you mean 'text ads' not phone calls
the call block apps do not work
i'm not up on all the lastest apps
but there might be an alternate messaging app, that would block texts from senders not on your contacts
if thats possible it would just send them to trash or delete them
it could not stop them from being sent to your number
just stop you from seeing them
the only way to block text, is to get CS at your carrier to block that number, but many spammers spoof the phone number and change it daily - gafidlerExplorerif you don't recognize the number don't answer...
- SAR_TrackerExplorerReal simple - if the caller isn't in my contacts list, I don't answer. If it's a legit call, they'll leave a message. Robo calls don't leave a message that's I've experienced.
- campinginthewooExplorerI have a friend who works in ATT corporate store and he recommended the app called Hiya and it's has done wonders for me I have galaxy S7 and it's free in the play store. I asked him what was best for blocking and it has cut down a lot of the calls. I will hear a beep letting me know a call was blocked and it will show you who called and will ask if you want to allow the number or continue to block and option to report the number.
- mikimExplorerI second Mr. Number as an app.
For IPhones NoMoRobo is available. - azrvingExplorerMr Number helps.
- Larry-DExplorer III started blocking any calls I don't recognize and at the same time, through Verizon added the full caller ID service (monthly charge). With the full caller ID service I have noticed that most of the spam call come in as "WIRELESS CALLER" "TOLL FREE CALL" or something else, maybe even a name. The caller ID information is in all capital letters which may be a clue that has not been put out there. With doing these two things it has drastically reduced the number of calls to sometimes none for two to three days.
