Chromebook storage drive

I love my CB but not having a hard drive can be a pain. Today, the obvious occurred to me : plug in a USB thumb drive or similar device.

Yeah, that's a DUH moment, but sometimes the obvious escapes me.

Mine has more storage than one of my Windows machines.. I don't like storing on it however.

There is an APP .. Files.. You can install it on your CB and on a Windows box (I think on Windows it's a web page) and then the two can share.. One way I do it

and for text stuff, Recipes and such. I can Print to printers hooked to the windows machine. Have not yet tried my Ghost Print (Cute PDF) printer, but I'm guessing I can do it that way.
  • USB thumb drives are not the most reliable devices. If what you want to keep on disk is important, look into USB external drives. Yeah they are physically bigger, but they are more reliable and can be gotten in sizes in excess of 1 TB.
  • If you don't have wifi available but do have ethernet, you can still get online with one of these: click here
